2009 FLORIDA BANDMASTERS ASSOCIATION MPA

Congratulations Band and Guard students and parents on earning the highest possible scores at out annual district assessment (MPA). Our kids performed on and off of the field with talent and professionalism. Not only has our group increased significantly in numbers, but the quality of the shows keep getting better and better. Thank you to all of the parents who are making this marching season a big success. There is simply no way we could do it without you and we appreciate all of your help!

2009 FALCON SOUND INVITATIONAL MARCHING COMPETITION

What a great job our students did at the Falcon Sound Invitational Marching Competition, held by the Flanagan High School Band. 32 bands performed at the event, and our group scored a 77.44; almost eight points higher than they did the previous week at the Boca Cavalcade of Bands. In addition, the group also earned the following:

Superior , Music
Superior , Visual
Superior , Brass
Superior , Color Guard
Superior , Woodwinds
3rd Place in the 4A Class (the first time we have ever competed in 4A!)
Drum Majors, Kevin Hershey and Ian Picard, also earned “Superiors with Distinction”!

What a great day it was! Thank you to all of the parents who donated their time and energy to make the day a BIG SUCCESS!

2009 CAVALCADE OF BANDS COMPETITION

Congratulations on a great start to this year’s marching band season! We are extremely proud of the way our group performed off and on the field at the Cavalcade of Bands last week. We earned superior ratings in Music, Auxiliary (Color Guard), and General Effect, and our overall score was 10 points higher than last year’s Cavalcade performance- that’s an AMAZING Improvement!!! Thank you to all of the parents who helped to make the day a big success.   GO SHARKS!

Attention All Volunteers

School District policy requires all volunteers to be registered each year.  It is a simple process and will only take a few moments - but this online registration must be completed on site at Spanish River High School. Please visit the main office anytime during regular school hours to access their volunteer registration computer.  We will also have the computers available to us during parent meetings. If you are unable to register during school hours or at a band booster parent meeting, please contact Mr White to arrange a convenient time on practice days, etc.

All returning volunteers must re-register again for the current school year.  Please also be sure to periodically post your hours in the computer on campus so that the band program gets the recognition of all the valuable hours you contribute to our program.
