Marching Band & Guard
Marching Band and Color Guard

The Silver Sound Marching Band and Guard is the most visible group of the SRHS Band Program and performs at most home and some away football games, marching contests, festivals, parades, pep rallies, and other public appearances.  The Marching Band is comprised of our musicians and color guard performers. Our students attend a Marching Band Summer Camp on our campus which is very important in order for the band to achieve a high level of performance and to be prepared for the start of our school football game schedule. This is where students learn marching fundamentals, guard routines, show concepts, and music to be performed during the fall season. Proper attitude and good discipline is essential in order to be a member of the Marching Band. During marching band season, from August through the first week of November, after school rehearsals will be held twice a week as well as on the days of performances.

Our Marching Band students perform at various competitions throughout the season including some travel to out of area competitions.  As our program continues to grow and prosper our students continue to demonstrate and achieve the excellence for which Spanish River Community High School is known.  Our students work hard to attain these goals through hours of practice and dedication and have come to enjoy the benefits of working closely together with their peers as well.  Our Marching Band students become a close knit family working, learning, and playing together within as well as outside of the music realm.
2011-2012 show is "Breaking Free", with original music composed by Mr. William Castillo, drill created by Mr. Brian Horan,  percussion music composed by Mr. Matt Crowning and front ensemble music by Mr. Nikolas Dee.
