Marching Band Camp, or “Big Band Camp” as most of our students like to call it, falls at the end of July for two weeks from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with lunch in the middle. The band learns how to make the formations on the field along with combining the music they learned over the summer, therefore creating an outstanding show for hundreds of people to enjoy. Band Camp is mandatory unless arranged with the Band Director (contact information is in the “Contact Us” page of this website). Absentees make holes which makes it difficult to make accurate formations, so 100% attendance is important! Band Camp is especially important for all rookies since they are not familiar with all concepts of marching band. They will gradually learn and build good habits to bring to practices and much more! Freshmen also get an additional benefit that most do not get: getting to know Spanish River Campus and meeting many new friends that can help with anything related to school! After coming to Band Camp, you will know a lot about band and school, and it is a great experience that starts an amazing marching season!

Mini Camp is immediately following the end of the school year in June. At this time, new members get an orientation to marching band and color guard. This is also the time that all marching band members receive the music for the fall show. The band can practice the new music prior to Marching Camp in August.
