The Silver Sound Jazz Band is a class of musicians that study and perform the different styles of Big Band Jazz including Swing, Latin, Fusion, and Funk. The Jazz Band performs at all band concerts as well as several school functions, during lunches, and other important community performances. The members of the Jazz Band are advanced musicians and have been admitted to the Jazz Band after a successful audition and are also members of the Symphonc Band.  This small intimate group of students enjoy the opportunity to perform a different genre than that of the other ensembles and often are seen jamming or improvising on their instruments during their performances.  The nature of the program allows for personal developement of different jazz styles and several non-traditional type performance opportunities within the school community as well as the greater Boca Raton community.  Attend one of their concerts soon and you will be sure to enjoy the performance with a toe -tapping swinging time.

2009 ALL DISTRICT JAZZ HONOR BAND

Congratulations to David Greenstein, Bradley Miller, Eric Picard and Ian Picard for being selected to participate in the Florida Bandmasters Association All District Jazz Band. Students from throughout Palm Beach County auditioned for this prestigious group and we were honored to have four students accepted from Spanish River Community High School.
