Percussion is the heartbeat of the marching and symphonic bands. During marching season the percussion section is comprised of the drum line (snare drums, bass drums & tenors) and the pit (cymbals, marimbas, vibraphones, congas, bass guitar, etc…). The drum line and pit always add an exciting dimension to the marching band. In the stands during football games they always have fun performing their cadences in addition to pep music. Concert season provides percussion with an opportunity to play a wide variety of instruments including tympanis, snare drums, tom toms, bells, cymbals, drum set and more. The percussion ensembles provide a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talents. From football games to competitions and concerts percussion performs as an incredibly tight unit. Their teamwork and camaraderie is truly inspiring. Simply put, PERCUSSION ROCKS. |
